TOOTH COLOURED FILLINGS
TOOTH COLOURED FILLINGS
A dental filling repairs the damage caused by tooth decay or fracture, restoring the natural appearance of your decayed or previously filled tooth. These days, dental fillings are tooth-coloured. They blend very well with your tooth enamel and bond well to the remaining tooth structure.
WHY DOESN’T IT HURT?
If your tooth decay is not deep, the nerves won’t be affected. In fact, you might not even know you have a problem. But you should still act fast to prevent further damage.
WHAT ABOUT MY OLD FILLINGS?
You might have had metal amalgam (mercury) fillings fitted in the past. These days, dentists are still debating whether having mercury fillings in your mouth poses any risk. If you do decide to have your mercury fillings replaced, we’ll do it using high-speed suction to reduce your exposure to the mercury vapours.
A small enough composite or porcelain filling should last a long time if you maintain it. And that means, hopefully, it will never turn into a toothache.
